REGINA – Saskatchewan hunters looking to get a big game licence can enter their name starting Friday. May 1 is the first day online applications will be taken for the 2015 big game draw.
This will be the first year the draw moves to the province’s automated hunting, angling and trapping licence (HAL) system which includes submitting, reviewing and updating an application, checking pool status and purchasing a draw licence.

Officials say the process is a transparent and equitable way to allocate the licenses. They say it also streamlines and simplifies the process.
This year’s draw included a limited number of licences for elk, moose, either-sex mule deer and antlerless mule deer.
Saskatchewan residents sponsoring a Canadian resident in the Canadian resident white-tail deer draw must have a HAL account.

Successful hunters in the draw will be able to purchase their licence on their HAL account.
The draw ends at midnight on June 2.
