Thirty-three-year-old Elmer Libertino was found dead on Moscrop Street at Smith Avenue this weekend. Libertino had no criminal record nor contact with police.

Three days later, a woman in her twenties was attacked in the same area, but she managed to fight her attacker and escape.

RCMP are not saying if there is a link between the two assaults.

Investigators say the canvassing operation was very successful and people in the neighbourhood gave officers new information.
