WINNIPEG – Police say suspicious packages that arrived in the mail at several Manitoba court facilities contained nothing dangerous.
In a news release Monday RCMP said the packages that were delivered April 8 in Winnipeg, Brandon, Morden, Minnedosa and Thompson were tested for the presence of dangerous chemicals and all came back negative.
The packages “appear to have originated in China,” RCMP say and there were similar incidents at court buildings in other parts of Canada.
But the Mounties had not other information on why the packages were sent or what exactly they contained – and said officers continue to investigate.
