TORONTO – Toronto police are warning the public of an increasing number of gym locker thefts in the Don Mills area.
Police say 16 thefts have recently taken place at the YMCA at 567 Sheppard Ave. E., LA Fitness at 1380 Don Mills Rd. and Good Life at 3389 Steeles Ave. E.

Items reported stolen include wallets, car keys, watches, cell phones and cash.
Police say the thieves are using lock picks and bolt cutters to break into the gym lockers.

In once case, keys removed from a locker were used to steal a vehicle.
Authorities are encouraging the public to report any suspicious incidents to gym staff and contact police.
