MONTREAL — It’s official. To honour former Quebec premier Robert Bourassa, a part of University Street in downtown Montreal has been renamed.
Robert-Bourassa Boulevard now extends between Sherbrooke and Notre Dame Streets — and the change can already been seen on Google Maps.
The change has drawn some comments from a few Montrealers, like this one, posted on Global Montreal’s Facebook page.
“Don’t get me wrong,” noted Patrick Gilbert.
“I think that Robert Bourassa was a great man and a great premier, but I really find it unfortunate that another English street name has been erased.”
