WINNIPEG – Opposition Leader Brian Pallister says the last four months have been an “embarrassment” for Manitoba’s government. The narrow victory by Premier Greg Selinger in Sunday’s leadership race was a prime example of NDP “dysfunction,” Pallister said Monday.

Selinger beat rival candidate Theresa Oswald, a former government minister who led a caucus revolt that precipitated the leadership race, by just 33 votes.

“They were divided before and they’re divided now,” said Pallister, who has said the premier courted unions to secure his win.
“I don’t think it came down to votes, I think it came down to back room deals.”
