Saskatchewan’s Team Laycock wins Brier bronze

CALGARY – Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock defeated Brad Gushue of Newfoundland and Labrador 7-5 to win the bronze medal Sunday at the Tim Hortons Brier. Laycock scored a deuce in the extra end for the victory at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Team Canada’s John Morris will face Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs in the gold-medal game Sunday night.

Jacobs won Olympic gold at the Sochi Games last year.

Morris was on Kevin Martin’s gold-medal winning team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

The Brier champion will represent Canada at the upcoming world men’s curling championship in Halifax and return as Team Canada at next year’s national championship in Ottawa.
