SaskEnergy says they aren’t the only ones to blame

Months after home owners filed legal action against SaskEnergy following several fires and an explosion in South Regina, the Crown Corporation has filed a counter claim against SaskPower.

SaskEnergy alleges SaskPower’s gas inspection branch failed to conduct a timely investigation after a fire on Shannon Road on April 10th.

On April 11th the home next door exploded.

SaskEnergy says this is an attempt to make sure all first responders involved in the original call are represented in court.

Representatives from SaskPower and Rob Norris, the Minister in charge of the Crown Corporation, declined comment because the matter is before the court. The motion is scheduled to be heard on January 26.
