9 people facing charges in ongoing Whitecourt drug investigation

EDMONTON – Nine people have been arrested in an ongoing RCMP investigation into the distribution of illicit street drugs in Whitecourt.

Drugs seized include marijuana, cocaine, Fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The suspects were arrested following a joint investigation involving Whitecourt RCMP General Investigation Section, Edmonton’s Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, RCMP Police Dog Services, Whitecourt Integrated Traffic Services and Drug Undercover Street Team.

Nine people have been arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Daniel Brennan – Three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of marijuana
• James Stevens – Four counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of marijuana
• Matthew Horning – One count of trafficking cocaine and one count of proceeds of crime
• Cory Higdon – Three counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of proceeds of crime
• Randy Duperron – Two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of Fentanyl
• Joel Wenger – Three counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of proceeds of crime, one count of possession of methamphetamine and two counts of breaching recognizance
• Sasha Stimson – One count of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and one count of proceeds of crime
• Stephen Alley – One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breaching recognizance
• Anthony Courtney Three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of proceeds of crime
