MONTREAL – A new fitness trend claims to help you make leaps in your health.

Fitness trainer, Suaad Gadban, from Le Club Sportif MAA introduced Morning News host, Richard Dagenais, to a trampoline cardio workout that claims to  help firm your muscles, improve your cardio and even detoxify your body.

“It cleanses your cells as it works out your lymphatic system,” says Gadban.

Because of its lower impact, Gadban says this type of workout is effective for people who suffer from back pain and those who have knee issues.

“When we’re bouncing, 86 per cent of the shock is absorbed by the trampoline,” she said.

Rebound exercise has caught the attention of many, including  N.A.S.A.,  which has published a study in their Journal of Applied Physiology on the effectiveness of the trend.

The latest health and medical news emailed to you every Sunday.

The study found that bouncing, as an exercise, is 68 per cent more efficient than jogging.

It even goes as far as calling rebound exercise “the most efficient, effective form of exercise yet devised by men.”

The sessions last for about one hour and you can sign up for classes at Rebound fit in Montreal.
