False rumours of large IKEA expansion

REGINA – Rumours IKEA is looking to open 10 more stores in our country are incorrect, according to IKEA Canada.

The chain is, however, actively looking to open pick-up points this year, warehouses where customers will be able to gather products ordered online.

In a statement, the company says they want to make IKEA accessible to more Canadians.

When asked if that might include pick-up points in Regina or Saskatoon, the representative told Global News it is too early to speculate.

“While the strategy is clear; the timing, locations and format of the increased accessibility has not been finalized and it is premature to speculate on these details.”
