TORONTO — British actor Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter are expecting.
A rep for the actor confirmed the news Wednesday.
“They are both over the moon,” read a statement.

The New York Post’s Page Six, which first reported the pregnancy, said the couple plans to get married in the spring.
Cumberbatch, 38, and Hunter, 36, announced their engagement in November and fans were quick to express hope the pair would start a family.
“Oh my God,” Cumberbatch told People in November. “Well, my mother is also waiting for Cumberbabies.”
The star is up for several awards this season for playing Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.
