EDMONTON – Does the centre-left in Alberta need to come together to present a true electoral challenge to the PC dynasty?

Liberal MLA Laurie Blakeman took to Twitter this week to implore “progressive” voters to think about the idea, or to at least step forward and volunteer their time to support a candidate.

This week also saw the Ethics Commissioner release a report reluctantly exonerating Education Minister Gordon Dirks for making a portables announcement that benefited him politically during the October byelection campaign. The Commissioner said Dirks didn’t violate any laws, but added the move was not appropriate.
