Traffic held up after suspicious package found at Winnipeg CSIS office

WINNIPEG — Traffic was backed up on Portage Avenue and Main Street Monday afternoon after the discovery of a suspicious package at 360 Main St.

The Winnipeg Fire Department’s hazardous materials unit responded to the ninth-floor office occupied by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service where the package was discovered.

It’s not clear what was in the package but there were no injuries.

Police and fire crews left the scene just after six in the evening.
