Six people charged after Grande Prairie drug seizures

EDMONTON – Several Grande Prairie residents are facing drug-related charges after RCMP seized drugs, cash and stolen property from two residences.

On Dec. 4, RCMP officers used search warrants to investigate the Ranchlands Apartments Buildings. While searching a residence there, they seized cash, about 2,530 pills (believed to be fentanyl), 384 grams of cocaine, 6.7 grams of methamphetamine and 11.3 grams of MDMA.

Ayana Alisho, 24, Ahmed Alisho, 52, and Mahdi Mohammed, 40, have each been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of proceeds of crime over $5,000. All three have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19.

Also on Dec. 4, a home at 9716 100 Avenue in Grande Prairie was searched.

During that search, officers seized cash, 21 grams of cocaine, 80 millilitres of GHB (date rape drug), seven fentanyl pills and a stolen purse.

Rae-Lynn August, 25, is facing seven charges, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. August was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5.

Wayne Schwartz is facing four charges, including three counts of possession of a controlled substance. Tanya Baldwin is facing three charges, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Both were released and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5.
