Saskatoon police looking for leads in city’s 7th murder of 2014

SASKATOON – The identity of Saskatoon’s seventh murder victim of 2014 has been released. Johnathon Keenatch-Lafond, 35, died as the result of a stabbing on Nov. 17, 2014.

Just after midnight, police were called to a Pleasant Hill apartment building in the 1400-block of 20th Street West for an unknown problem.

Responding officers found Keenatch-Lafond suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

At the time, police said they did not believe it was a random attack and officers were told intruders had entered Keenatch-Lafond’s suite and attacked him.

Police are appealing to the public for help with the investigation and are asking anyone with information or who had contact with Keenatch-Lafond prior to his death to contact them at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
