SASKATOON – Saskatoon city councillor Pat Lorje is being reprimanded for leaking confidential information. The issue started back in April when potential breaches of confidentiality were reported to the executive committee, which is made up of all 10 city councillors and the mayor.

The allegations were that information from two closed-door executive committee meetings were released to a member of the public and/or the media. An independent investigator was then hired and the findings were inconclusive.

Then on Sept. 22, a similar complaint was made.

Again, an independent investigator was hired and findings were presented to the executive committee at the beginning of November. The report going to council on Monday says Lorje acknowledged the release of the confidential information and apologized.

The committee found the Ward 2 councillor breached the code of conduct and it’s recommending she have restrictions place on how confidential documents are provided to her, prior and during in-camera portions of meetings, for a year.
