Have you seen these hot wheels? Rare Lambo rims stolen in Edmonton

(Watch: Four rare rims were stolen from an Edmonton storage locker. Police posted a request for the public’s help on Facebook. Emily Mertz has reaction.)

EDMONTON – Four rare rims – specifically designed for a 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires – were nabbed last weekend.

Edmonton police say there are only three sets of these rims in Canada.  The rims are dark grey, five spoke split, measuring 8.5 by 19 inches (front rims) and 11 by 19 inches (rear rims).  Police say this particular set was stolen from a storage locker in downtown Edmonton between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16.

Since they’re so rare, police are hoping the public might be able to help spot them. The EPS posted a photo of the rims on its official Facebook account along with a request for information. However, the post has been getting mixed responses.

“One set of rims go missing for a rich guy’s car and it becomes a first world problem!! People’s actual trucks/sleds and trailers get stolen and the cops don’t do a frigin thing, and that combination could be more then [sic] these rims in total. But u know the rich guy can’t afford new ones,” wrote someone by the name of Dwight.

Others came to the owner’s defence. “Having your stuff stolen sucks even if you can afford to replace it,” wrote Hannah.

Someone named Cindy posted her own request. “Since we’re at it… can you request assistance on who stole my son’s gym shorts from his locker?”

An employee at Weissach Performance Ltd. in Vancouver estimated the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera would cost between $275,000 and $300,000. He said the four ‘Scorpius’ rims for that model would be worth a total of $30,000.
