Young elephant fends off pride of lions

A baby elephant managed to survive an attack by 14 female lions in Zambia.

The attack happened near Norman Carr Safaris’ Chinzombo Camp, when the baby elephant became separated from its herd.

The above video shows the lone elephant kicking and using its trunk in an attempt to defend itself.

Dangling window washers rescued from 1 World Trade Center

Two window washers were trapped on a dangling scaffold nearly 70 stories up the new 1 World Trade Center tower for nearly two hours on Wednesday before firefighters sawed through a thick double-layered window to reach them.

The dramatic rescue comes a little more than a week after the nation’s tallest building officially opened.

Father singing “Blackbird” to dying son named Lennon goes viral

A video of a grieving father singing to his dying child just days after his wife died in her sleep has captured the hearts of many.

In the video, Chris Picco sings a cover of The Beatles song “Blackbird” while his son lies in an incubator at Loma Linda University Hospital in California.

Lennon was delivered by emergency C-section at 24 weeks shortly after his mother passed away.  Sadly, Lennon passed away just hours after Chris sang to him.

World’s tallest and shortest men meet for the first time

The world’s tallest and shortest living men met for the first time in London on Thursday as part of an event to mark the 60th anniversary of Guinness World Records.

Sultan Kosen, from Turkey, who measures 8 feet and 3 inches (2.51 metres) shook hands with 21.5-inch (54.6 centimetres) tall Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal.
