WATCH: World’s tallest and shortest men meet for the first time

The world’s tallest and shortest living men met for the first time in London on Thursday as part of an event to mark the 60th anniversary of Guinness World Records.

Sultan Kosen, from Turkey, who measures 8 feet and 3 inches (2.51 metres) shook hands with 21.5-inch (54.6 centimetres) tall Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal.

Both Kosen and Dangi expressed their gratitude to the Guinness World Records. “Since becoming the record holder my life has changed significantly and I have learnt to accept myself and having learnt to accept myself people accept me too,” said Kosen.

Kosen, who is a part-time farmer, also holds the record for the largest hands which are 11.22 inches (28.5 centimetres) from the wrist to tip of his middle finger, according to Guinness World Records.

Dangi is the shortest adult to have ever been verified by Guinness World Records, beating a benchmark set by Indian Gul Mohammed who was 22 inches (55.8 centimetres) tall.
