PENTICTON – A scary situation for a 34-year-old man who was almost robbed while out for a walk in Penticton on Tuesday.
The victim has told RCMP it was around 7:30 p.m. when he was approached by three males near McLaren Arena on Duncan Avenue.
He claims they came up to him in a white two-door Honda Civic while he was walking in the area, and demanded he turn over his wallet.
RCMP say when the victim refused to give the suspects his wallet, an altercation ensued and the victim was able to flee.
“The victim describes one of the suspects as being in his mid-20’s, Asian or Hispanic, with black hair, about 5’10”, 160 pounds, wearing a dark hoodie,” says Staff Sergeant Kurt Lozinski of Penticton RCMP.
Lozinski adds the victim wasn’t able to get a good look at the other occupants of the vehicle but is certain they were also males.
RCMP are asking anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact them.
