Businesses encouraged to change uniform policy for military members

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Saskatchewan businesses are being asked to make a small change to promotional offers for service members.

Following recent attacks on Canadian Forces members, 15 Wing Moose Jaw hopes members can simply show identification in order to receive any savings.

Typically, many businesses will offer discounts on Remembrance Day to servicemen and women in uniform.

“I am sure you can agree the security of our servicemen and women while at home in Canada is our top priority during this period of increased threat,” said Wing Commander Col. A.R. Day in a letter to Moose Jaw business owners.

Canadian Forces members are currently restricted from wearing their uniforms off-base unless traveling to and from home or on official military business.
