SUMMERLAND — RCMP are putting out an appeal following a bizarre crash last weekend.
The incident happened shortly after midnight Friday on Highway 97, where a West Kelowna man lost control of his vehicle after someone threw something at his car.
The single vehicle crash happened near Antlers Beach as the West Kelowna man was heading southbound on Highway 97 when something struck the driver’s side window, shattering the glass.
“The sudden shock created by the impact, accompanied by flying glass and unknown debris, caused the man to lose control, ending up in the lake,” says Cst. Kris Clark.
“The driver was apparently uninjured and managed to escape the vehicle before it was fully submerged in water.”
Clark says RCMP are taking the incident seriously because it could have resulted in serious injury or death.
“Police are asking for public assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible.”
