It’s number two for a tribal-themed loo at the Calgary Zoo – the restroom at the zoo’s Destination Africa exhibit took second place in this year’s contest to find the best washrooms in Canada.

Besides bragging rights, the Calgary Zoo will be honoured with a plaque in Canada’s Best Restroom Hall of Fame.
“Each year we look for establishments who understand the importance of first impressions and the impact a clean and well stocked restroom has on their business,” Cintas’ Senior Marketing Manager Leslie Molin said in a press release.
Finalists were selected based on “cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements.”
First place went to the Shaw Club Hotel & Spa in Niagara-in-the-Lake, Ont.

Third place went to the Vancouver Airport. Patria, a restaurant in Toronto, and Planet Hollywood in Niagara Falls, Ont. placed fourth and fifth.
