MONTREAL — An eight-year-old boy who was missing since Monday afternoon has been found after an exhaustive police search on Mont Rougemont in the Montérégie region of Quebec.
While walking on the mountain with his family, the group decided to play hide-and-seek at around 1 p.m., but half-an-hour later, the boy still had not been found.
The family then contacted provincial police, who quickly set up an emergency operation.
A team of Sûreté du Québec officers were at the scene, including helicopters, which had done a fly-over of the area.
The missing boy was found safe and sound by a canine search team at around 6:45 p.m. He was about 700 metres from where the family were playing earlier.
