KELOWNA — It’s believed a medical condition played a role in an early morning crash in Kelowna.
The single vehicle crash happened at around 8:30 a.m.at Gordon Drive and Clement Avenue where a pick-up truck went off the road.
The truck almost hit motorist Fotis Sotrios before coming to a rest across nearby railroad tracks.
“He clipped a couple of signs and coasted across (the road) and almost clipped me — I had to swerve out of the way. Then he came to a rest across the tracks,” says Sotrios.
Workers at a nearby plant were first on scene and tried to help the driver with oxygen from a first aid kit.
The driver, who may have suffered from a heart attack, was still breathing when rushed to hospital by ambulance.
