CALGARY – Firefighters rescued one person from a house fire in the community of Highwood on Friday.
Crews rushed to the 300 block of Hendon Drive N.W. around 8 a.m.

When they arrived, firefighters saw smoke coming from the basement and discovered a man still inside the home.
They helped him get out safely and transferred his care to on-scene paramedics.
