Kelowna Wings restaurant shuts down suddenly, plans to re-open soon

Steve Beskindy / Global Okanagan

KELOWNA — The doors were closed and so was the business, much to the surprise of employees at Kelowna’s Wings chain in Rutland. They came in to work only to find a note on the door, saying the restaurant was closed until further notice.

According to the mother of a worker, employees had no idea. She added many of the workers are single mothers, including her daughter, who doesn’t want to comment further to the media because she is worried about not getting her job back.

Global News spoke to Wings restaurant’s head office and was told the restaurant will be re-opening soon.

A spokesperson from the head office in Burnaby also told Global News that all of the employees have been contacted and will be welcomed back to work as soon as they can re-open the doors.

As for when the restaurant will re-open, or why it was shut down the way it was in the first place, Wings head office would not comment.
