KELOWNA, B.C. — A 21-year-old Kelowna man called police after his car was stolen Tuesday morning. According to RCMP, the man wasn’t very cooperative with information, leading police to believe there was more to the story.
Later that night, Mounties were called to a home in the 300 block of Moubray Road after an apparent break and enter. Police found the man who reported his car stolen on scene. He was covered in blood and apparently under the influence of drugs. The homeowners reported he had a hammer in his hand and was yelling at them about his stolen car being parked nearby.
“The man allegedly smashed the sliding glass door, entered the home, and caused extensive damage inside,” according to an RCMP news release. “The man had suffered lacerations, presumably from the broken glass door, and was taken to the Kelowna General Hospital for treatment.”
The man faces potential mischief and break and enter charges. He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
