Vancouver Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man in the 400-block of Abbott near Pender Street.
Police say an altercation took place between two men outside Lotus Hotel shortly after 8 a.m. Friday morning.

After the altercation, the man entered the hotel lobby and collapsed. Police and paramedics responded to the scene but were unable to revive him.
Police say a 40-year-old man has been detained in relation to the incident.
There’s no word on the cause of death or if a weapon was involved.
Abbott Street will be closed to traffic until further notice.
