TORONTO — Nicole Kidman broke down in tears Friday as she said goodbye to her father Antony Kidman, who died last week at 75.

“I’m so lucky to be his daughter, and that he chose my mother to make me with,” the actress said in her eulogy, according to reports. “The only regret he’d have is that he’s not here to see his beautiful grandchildren grow up.

“I am one of the lucky ones. I am a girl, a woman, raised by an extraordinary man.”

The funeral, held at a church in Sydney, Australia, brought out mourners including Russell Crowe and his estranged wife Danielle Spencer.

Kidman spoke about spending time with her father in New York City only a few weeks before his death. They enjoyed walks around the city and took in some theatre together.

She said her father was “calm, wise, self-retrained and generous.”

“He is the reason I can’t walk past someone on the street with their hands out without giving,” said Kidman, who added the family would take care of his widow.

“It’s okay Papa, we’re here to take care of her,” she said. “I want to say to him, don’t worry, we’ll be able to take care of her… I love you Papa.”

Antony Kidman died of a suspected heart attack while in a Singapore hotel.

He was a clinical psychologist at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology Sydney.

His famous daughter was supported Friday by her husband, country singer Keith Urban, and their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

Kidman and Urban sang “Amazing Grace” during the service and Urban served as a pallbearer.
