TORONTO — Nicole Kidman and her family are “in shock” after her father Antony Kidman died in a Singapore hotel. He was 75.
A rep for the actress told the Daily Mail Australia on Friday the family is grieving. “Some time and privacy is needed to deal with this shock and tragedy,” said Wendy Day.
According to reports, Antony Kidman, a respected psychologist in Australia, was visiting daughter Antonia and his grandchildren when he suffered a heart attack in a hotel restaurant following his morning exercise routine.
Kidman was a clinical psychologist at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology Sydney.
“During his 43 years at the University of Technology, Sydney, Tony has contributed greatly – as a colleague, as a researcher, and as a health practitioner,” read a statement from Vice-Chancellor Attila Brungs. “Tony will be missed by all at UTS. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
Kidman was awarded an Order of Australia in 2005 and was married to Janelle for 50 years.
