REGINA – The Saskatchewan government has announced another location for photo radar in the province, this one on Highway 12 at Martensville.
Officials say it’s a continuation of their efforts to improve traffic safety in high-risk areas.
At the same time, the government announced photo radar will be installed on Highway 1 near White City.
“There has been significant growth in the communities of Martensville, White City and Emerald Park in recent years, leading to increased traffic volumes and risk of collisions, which is why we added these locations to the pilot,” said Don McMorris, the minister responsible for SGI.

Photo radar camera locations had previously been announced for Circle Drive and in select school zones in Saskatoon.
Officials said any revenue from photo radar will go towards traffic safety initiatives once costs for the cameras are covered.
“We would be thrilled to see zero tickets and zero revenue, because that would mean no one is speeding through these high-risk corridors,” said McMorris.
“Our goal is to prevent traffic deaths and injuries.”
The camera is expected to be installed by mid-October and all photo radar locations will be clearly marked by signs.
Early this year, the government reduced the speed limit on Highway 12 to 90 km/h from two kilometres south of the city to about one kilometre north in an effort to reduce collisions and improve safety.
There are also plans for an overpass to serve Martensville.
