It says Mann, 51, and his wife Jill wanted to make the announcement so that he can more honestly and openly face the “new normal” of his life.

The posting says the diagnosis had been kept among friends and family to give Mann and his loved ones time to come to grips with its ramifications.

The band says there is no way to know precisely how the future will unfold but notes they plan to carry on “a little longer” for their fans.
