Police investigate shooting in Beddington

CALGARY – Police are investigating a shooting in the community of Beddington.

Officers were called to Beacham Road N.W. around 2 a.m. on Friday for reports of shots fired, but weren’t able to find any evidence when they arrived.

Hours later, a resident living in the area called police to say their vehicle had significant damage to it that appeared to be caused by a shotgun blast.

The green sedan has a gaping hole in the driver’s side door, with a shattered window. The front hood is also peppered with small pocks and dents.

“I actually come home at that time of night, so it’s not good at all,” says area resident Dwight Watts.

Investigators have taped off the area and are looking for witnesses.

So far, police say it appears no homes were hit.
