BELLEVILLE – A 27-year-old Belleville, Ont., woman is facing charges after police say alcohol was found in a diaper bag inside a vehicle and a young child was in the back seat.
Police say the vehicle was pulled over Tuesday after officers responded to a disturbance call in Belleville.
It’s alleged a three-year-old child was in the back without a car seat, and two open bottles of booze were found in the toddler’s diaper bag.
The child, whose gender was not released, was turned over to its grandparents.
The driver has been charged with impaired driving, driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol in her blood and failing to ensure a child is secured in a car seat.
Police did not indicate whether she was the child’s mother.
