WINNIPEG – A couple in Manitoba’s Parkland area have been arrested for a string of sexual crimes against their two girls, both under 10 years of age.

Allegations of child abuse were reported to Parkland RCMP on Aug. 7 and investigators determined the two girls were being abused sexually and physically by their biological father and his female partner, police said.

The girls were forced to perform sexual acts and they and their younger sister were often not fed and were locked in their rooms for most of the day, RCMP allege.

All three girls have been placed in the care of Child and Family Services.

Their parents face charges of sexual assault, making child pornography, assault with a weapon, failing to provide the necessities of life, forcible confinement, corrupting morals, sexual exploitation of a young person, sexual interference, assault and invitation to sexual touching. They were scheduled to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on Tuesday.
