Saskatoon Fringe Festival weekend attendance is up

SASKATOON – August long weekend attendance marked a record high for this year’s Saskatoon Fringe Festival.

The festival had its largest street attendance in the last decade and theatre attendance is also up by 5 per cent from 2013.

Broadway Avenue is set to be packed until the Fringe ends on Saturday.

People who can’t make it to the festival, organizers say they’re bringing back a classic feature which will incorporate some the best of the 10-day event.

“One of the things we’ve been talking about consistently is the Best of Fringe happening on Sunday which we haven’t done since 2003,” said Robert Wyman, 25th Street Theatre executive director.

“So the best three shows of the festival are going to be up on Sunday. So if you missed a theatre show please check our website for the best of which will be announced tomorrow at noon.”

Tuesday is the last day to submit votes for the Best of Fringe using #yxefringebestof via Twitter or by submitting votes at the box office located at Victoria School.
