Expect long weekend CTrain closures and road construction

A number of major construction projects in Calgary will mean delays for commuters staying in the city this long weekend.

Several CTrain stations are closed until Tuesday for construction and maintenance work.

This includes all downtown CTrain stations plus Bridgeland / Memorial and Calgary Zoo stations.  The stations will re-open on Tuesday at 4:00 a.m.

Crews are extending the platform at the zoo station to make room for four-car trains.

There will be major track repairs and electrical work in front of Olympic Plaza as well.

Shuttle buses will run in place of trains.

Construction on Memorial Drive Saturday morning caused traffic slowdowns in the northeast.

The major roadway from Deerfoot Trail to Zoo Road has just one eastbound lane open and the westbound left hand lane is blocked off.  This will continue for the remainder of the long weekend until Tuesday at 5:00 a.m.
