Riders Chick and Hurl named CFL player’s of the week

REGINA – The CFL announced on Tuesday that Saskatchewan Roughriders John Chick and Sam Hurl have each been named CFL’s Gibson’s Finest Player of the Week award.

Chick was named defensive player of the week after he recorded two sacks, one forced fumble and a defensive tackle in the Riders 37-9 win over the Argos.

Hurl was named Canadian Player of the week where he recorded a career high seven defensive tackles and also had a fumble recovery.

This is the third and fourth time this season that a Rider player has earned player of the week honours.

Hamilton Tiger Cats quarterback Dan LeFevour was named top offensive player in the CFL last week.
