Piling work to begin Monday, July 11 on new Mayfair Pool

Construction continues on the new Mayfair Pool project, with demolition and excavation of the old pool structure now complete. Starting Monday, July 11 at 7:00 a.m., work crews will begin to drive piles into the ground to provide foundation support for the new pool basin and deck. Mayfair residents should be aware that the hammering of piles will be fairly loud and constant throughout the day. Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Piling work for the new Mayfair Pool will take place in two phases. The first group of piles will take 10 to 14 days to complete (weather permitting), beginning July 11. The second group of piles is scheduled to be completed in September.

The City of Saskatoon thanks residents for their patience during the construction process.

The new Mayfair Pool will include a leisure pool with water features, a lane pool and diving area, a waterslide and run-out chute, multi-purpose space, as well as designated areas for sports activity, BBQ and picnic space.  It is anticipated that the pool will reopen to the public in the summer of 2012, barring unforeseen circumstances.
