WATCH: John Dann and Claudia Rodgers get engaged on stage with Paul McCartney.

TORONTO — One lucky couple got engaged Saturday night with a little help from a friend — Sir Paul McCartney.

During the second encore at the former Beatle’s concert in Albany, NY, McCartney spotted Claudia Rodgers holding a sign that read: “He won’t marry me ’til he meets you.”

Her boyfriend of eight years, John Dann, held a sign that read: “I have the ring & I’m 64.”

The 72-year-old singer invited Rodgers, 60, and Dann on stage — much to the delight of the 13,000 fans in Times Union Center.

Asked if he was really going to pop the question, Dann replied: “I’ve come too far to back out now.”

McCartney then invited Dann to sing a verse of “When I’m Sixty-Four” before Dann got down on one knee to pop the question.

Rodgers, of course, said yes.

The couple was congratulated with hugs from McCartney, who joked: “They booked us for the wedding.”

Saturday marked McCartney’s return to the stage after an illness that forced him to cancel a Japanese tour, a concert in South Kore and several U.S. dates.
