TORONTO — Here’s your first look at Henry Cavill as Superman in the forthcoming Batman v. Superman movie.
The 31-year-old British actor reprises his role from 2013’s Man of Steel to star opposite Ben Affleck, who is the latest actor to portray the Dark Knight, in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The image was posted Thursday on the movie’s official Twitter page.
“The more time I spend with Henry, the more he’s Superman to me,” director Zack Snyder told USA Today.

A number of actors have portrayed Superman — a DC Comics superhero co-created by Toronto-born Joe Shuster — including George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain and Brandon Routh.
Affleck played Reeves in the 2006 made-in-Toronto movie Hollywoodland.
Snyder said only a few scenes with both Cavill and Affleck have been filmed so far. “It’s never really been done and it’s kinda cool,” he said.
In May, Snyder shared a photo of Affleck as Batman.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for a May 6, 2016 release.
