Officers injured after Saskatoon police cruiser crashes

SASKATOON – A two-vehicle collision Wednesday evening sent two Saskatoon police officers to hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Rusholme Road and Avenue W North.

According to the police report, a vehicle travelling north on Avenue W broadsided the police cruiser heading west on Rusholme.

The force of the crash sent the cruiser onto a lawn and into some bushes. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The intersection was closed for several hours while collision analysts carried out their investigation.

There is no word if any charges will be laid.
