Saskatoon police ID murder victim, accused makes court appearance

SASKATOON – Police have released the name of Saskatoon’s fourth murder victim of 2014 while the man accused in the killing made his first court appearance.

Benjamin Green, 38, was found dead inside a home in the 1000-block of Avenue K North on June 26.

An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday; however, police are not releasing any details.

Anthony Quattrocchi, 30, appeared in provincial court on Wednesday morning. He is charged with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to human remains.

He is being held in custody until his next court appearance on July 9.

Police say Quattrocchi and Green were known to each other.
