TORONTO – Every July 1, proud Canucks don their finest red and white outfit and head out to celebrate their hockey-playing, poutine-eating heritage.

But while you’re Instagramming pictures of your cold Molson beverage or your temporary maple leaf tattoo, why not download some of these patriotic apps, eh.

Canada Day in the Capital (Free)

Any Canucks headed to Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day should download the Canada Day in the Capital app. The app serves as the official guide to all of the celebrations happening in Ottawa – complete with a map and a complete set list for musical guests.

Canada Day in the Capital is available for Android, BlackBerry and iOS users.

Bonus: The city of Calgary also has a Canada Daycelebration app for iPhone users.

How Canadian Are You, Eh? (Free)

Every year, thousands of Canadians undoubtedly get in arguments about who is more patriotic.

This app will put these arguments to rest once and for all, testing your knowledge with questions put together by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

How Canadian Are You, Eh is available for Android, BlackBerry and iOS users.

Official Canada Day (Free)

Official Canada Day is the ultimate crowd-sourcing tool. The app lets you share your Canadian pride with users around the country by sharing pictures of your celebrations and participating in polls.

With the app, you can see what Canadians across the country are doing to celebrate our country’s birthday. Plus, the app uses your smartphone’s location services to tailor the app to what city you are in.

Official Canada Day is available for iOS users.

Team Canada Table Hockey ($0.99)

Just because the snow has melted and the NHL season is over doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate our national sport in July.

The Team Canada Table Hockey app will let you play a good ol’ fashioned game of shinny – albeit on your phone. You can even challenge your friends to a game over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (just make sure to wear a helmet if you’ve been into the beer).

Team Canada Table Hockey is available for iOS and Android users.

Frontback (Free)

At a wild Canada Day party in the city? Taking in the view from the dock at the cottage? Can’t decide if you want to snap a selfie, or a picture of the awesome view?

Frontback is a unique camera app that allows users to take a picture with their front-facing camera and their back-facing camera at the same time, then shares both pictures at the same time for a unique view of what you are doing.

Frontback is available for Android and iOS users.
