Although RCMP officials said they will not release the name of a member who is the subject of an internal code of conduct investigation, they confirmed he was a senior member at the staff sergeant rank.
His name will be released if the process leads to a formal disciplinary hearing.
Officials said it is important for the public to note the member is entitled to a fair and due process throughout the investigation.
Meadow Lake is about 225 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
