Stantec to buy U.S.-based engineering firm Bonestroo

EDMONTON – Engineering company Stantec (TSX:STN) said Thursday it has agreed to buy engineering, planning and environmental science firm Bonestroo Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Bonestroo, based in St. Paul, Minn., has about 275 employees in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and North Dakota.

“With Bonestroo’s expertise and reputation for technical excellence and responsive service, we’ll be better equipped to offer municipal and environmental services in regions of the United States where, to date, we’ve had very limited or no presence,” Stantec president and chief executive officer Bob Gomes said in a statement.
