Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, alongside B.C. Premier David Eby, announced on Thursday that the federal government and B.C.’s provincial government have reached a “landmark new agreement to build more homes, bring down housing costs and modernize infrastructure across the province.” Carney says the plan includes reducing development charges, converting vacant condos into affordable housing as well as investing in community infrastructure that includes schools, hospitals and public transit.
