Habs flag flying in Boston, but not everyone’s happy about it

MONTREAL – Mayor Marty Walsh has met the terms of his friendly wager with Montreal mayor Denis Coderre: a Montreal Canadiens’ flag is flying at the City Hall in Boston.

Walsh took to Twitter to prove that his end of the deal had been kept.

But his tweet has erupted a firestorm of criticism on social media.

“It’s tiny!!!! Should of required minimal size for flag,” said Seb Gagne in Montreal.

“Could Boston City Hall have used a smaller flag?” asked another Habs fan, Matt in Halifax.

While another noted: “LMAO, so tiny”:

Another pundit suggested that the “puny Habs flag” would coin a new term: “Walshing on a bet.”

However, Montreal mayor Denis Coderre didn’t seem to think size mattered, tweeting a quick thanks in response to Mayor Walsh’s announcement.
